Women of Color STEM Awards Names Health Catalyst’s Rhonda Davis a Technology Rising Star

Rhonda Davis, a Quality Data Abstractor and Customer Success Operations Lead at Health Catalyst, was recognized for her contributions at the 2023 Women of Color STEM Awards. Her dedication to process improvements is evident as she spends her days delving into extensive research on patients’ medical encounters, focusing on diseases, procedures, devices, and complications.

Carefully abstracting data that meets the specific requirements of various data registries is instrumental in driving decision-making and identifying areas for quality and safety improvements in the healthcare industry. With a background in nursing, Davis understands the value of combining medical expertise with applied technologies to create positive impacts at both patient care and organizational levels.

Colleagues regard Davis as a continuous learner, and when asked about managing her time between work, learning, hobbies, and other responsibilities, she emphasizes the importance of prioritizing tasks through a daily to-do list. Additionally, she understands the significance of self-care in avoiding burnout and ensures she allocates time to recharge. “I learned a while ago that one can’t pour from an empty cup,” Davis said.
